Scope of this Notice
This Notice describes the overall practices of PSSLAI with respect to our processes and content which are made available through our network of websites, our online and mobile applications, digital services platforms, and social media pages (collectively referred to as "PSSLAI channels").
This Notice applies to individuals who interact with PSSLAI through PSSLAI channels and/or apply for and avail themselves of our products and services such as loans (including digital loan services), savings, e-wallet services, and other financial products, when you interact with our employees, authorized representatives, agents, and service providers.
This Notice describes how your Personal Data are collected, used, processed, and protected by PSSLAI. It also tells you how you can exercise your rights as a data subject.
This Notice also applies to individuals who will register for and use the Association's digital services and on-site services at our branches and offices, whether as primary members or authorized users.
Our Privacy Practices
Public Safety Savings and Loan Association, Inc. ("PSSLAI", "Association", "We", "Us") respects and upholds your data privacy rights. We ensure that all personal data collected and processed adhere to the general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality, and are compliant with the requirements of the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and other relevant policies, including issuances of the National Privacy Commission.
Depending on the specific service, transaction, or processing activity, PSSLAI processes personal data based on your consent, contractual necessity, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests, legitimate interests of PSSLAI, or other lawful criteria under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and applicable regulations.
When you access our PSSLAI channels and/or avail of our services, you acknowledge and agree that your information may be transferred to and processed in the Philippines, following the Philippines' legal and regulatory standards for data protection.
PSSLAI Services
PSSLAI offers a wide range of services, including loans with some of the lowest interest rates in the industry, while simultaneously providing a variety of investment opportunities with high income on savings and investment products for public safety personnel. These services are accessible through secure mobile applications, our website, or on-site at our branches and offices.

For digital services, PSSLAI may collect and process authentication, account access, transaction, device, system, and security-related information, where applicable, for identity verification, authentication, account protection, fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, investigation of unauthorized or suspicious activities, and protection of PSSLAI's digital platforms and services.
Sensitive personal information, biometric-related information, and government-issued identification details shall be collected and processed only when necessary, lawful, and proportionate to the purpose of processing, and subject to appropriate security safeguards.
Uses of Personal Data
PSSLAI uses the information we collect through PSSLAI channels and/or other variety of sources for the following purposes only:
To process membership applications, verify identity, maintain accounts, and provide member servicing;
To evaluate, process, approve, release, monitor, collect, and administer loans;
To process financial transactions including collections, disbursement, payments, transfers, e-wallet transactions, savings, and other related services;
To manage human resource, recruitment, employment, administrative, supplier, and third-party engagement requirements;
To communicate with you regarding PSSLAI products, services, information, advisories, offers, promotions, and relevant information subject to applicable consent;
To verify identity, authenticate access, protect account security, prevent fraud, monitor transactions, and investigate unauthorized, suspicious, or unlawful activities;
To support operational, audit, administrative, credit and risk management, security, compliance, and internal processes;
To comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, court orders, and requirements of supervisory bodies, government regulators, and other competent authorities, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Anti-Money Laundering Council, tax authorities, and other relevant agencies;
To protect and enforce the rights, interests, property, and legal claims of PSSLAI; and
•To perform other activities permitted by law, required by regulation, necessary for the provision of services, or carried out with your consent.

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including the Anti-Money Laundering Act, as amended, the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act, and requirements of government, regulatory, supervisory, or competent authorities such as the BSP, NPC, BIR, AMLC, and other relevant agencies.
If you do not wish to provide your personal information to us, we are not be able to provide the services you request, or to tell you about other services being offered by PSSLAI.
Data Protection Measures
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, the Association implements information security measures that safeguard and secure personal data. The Association also maintains physical, electronic, and procedural security to protect this information and limits access to information to those employees for whom access is authorized.
Security Measures for the Protection of Personal Data
PSSLAI implements information security measures to ensure the availability, confidentiality and integrity of personal data.
Organization Security Measures
The appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for data protection law, monitors compliance by the organization, and acts as a contact point with respect to requests from individuals about the processing of their personal data.
Physical Security Measures
PSSLAI areas for processing personal data, including the data center, are secured to control the risks of unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized change, loss, theft, and other incidents relating to unauthorized access, by means of deploying security personnel and installing CCTV where personal information is being processed.
Technical Security Measures
PSSLAI implements appropriate technical safeguards to secure the processing of personal data, including firewalls, anti-virus and encryption, and multi-factor authentication processes, biometric verification, access controls, and other security measures appropriate to the nature of the personal data and risk involved.
PSSLAI regularly reviews and updates its security measures, where necessary, to address changes in technology, processing activities, operational requirements, and applicable legal or regulatory standards.
Location, Storage and Retention
Your Personal Information collected through PSSLAI channels is stored and retained in PSSLAI facilities, systems, databases, or secure servers located in the Philippines, including PSSLAI's Data Center in Quezon City. The facilities are equipped and monitored with high security controls in terms of physical, technical/electronic, and organizational security controls.
PSSLAI retains personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as may be required under PSSLAI's Retention Policies, applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including requirements of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA), and related issuances, tax laws, audit requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Personal data collected through the digital platform will be stored in encrypted form within a secure environment and platform of PSSLAI or its duly contracted third-party service providers. Retention will follow the Association's retention schedule and applicable laws, including requirements under the BSP, AMLA, and AFASA.
Upon expiration of the applicable retention period, personal data shall be securely disposed of, deleted, or anonymized in accordance with PSSLAI's policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Rights of the Data Subject
Right to be Informed. As our data subject, you will be informed whether personal data pertaining to you shall be, are being, or have been processed, including if it should be used in automated decision-making and/or profiling.
Right to Object. The data subject has the right to object to the processing of his/her personal data, including processing for direct marketing, automated processing or profiling.
Right to Access. The data subject has the right to reasonable access to his/her personal data upon request, with due process and approval.
Right to Data Portability. Where applicable, you have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in an electronic or structured format, subject to applicable laws, regulations, verification procedures, and PSSLAI policies.
Right to Rectification. The data subject has the right to dispute the inaccuracy or error in the personal data and have the personal information controller correct it immediately and accordingly, unless the request is vexatious or otherwise unreasonable.
Right to Erasure or Blocking. The data subject shall have the right to suspend, withdraw, or order the blocking, removal, or destruction of his/her personal data from the personal information controller's filing system.
Right to Damages. The data subject shall be indemnified for any damages sustained due to inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained, or unauthorized use of personal data, taking into account any violation of his or her rights and freedoms as a data subject.
Exercising Your Rights
PSSLAI allows you to exercise your rights in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and applicable PSSLAI policies.
You may request access, review, correct, update, block, or obtain a copy of your personal data. Requests for blocking, deletion, or destruction of personal data shall be evaluated and acted upon where applicable, subject to identity verification, PSSLAI's retention requirements, applicable laws and regulations, legal or regulatory obligations, ongoing transactions, legitimate business purposes, and internal policies.
You may also object to certain processing activities or withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent. However, withdrawal of consent or refusal to provide necessary personal data may affect PSSLAI's ability to provide the requested product, service, transaction, or account access.

Definitions
Personal Information/Data – refers to any information whether recorded in a material form or not, from which the identity of an individual is apparent or can be reasonably and directly ascertained by the entity holding the information, or when put together with other information would directly and certainly identify an individual.
Sensitive Personal Information/Data – refers to personal information, to wit:
About an individual’s race, ethnic origin, marital status, age, color, and religious, philosophical or political affiliations;
About an individual’s health, education, genetic or sexual life of a person, or to any proceeding for any offense committed or alleged to have been committed by such person, the disposal of such proceedings, or the sentence of any court in such proceedings;
Issued by government agencies peculiar to an individual which includes, but not limited to, social security numbers, previous or current health records, licenses or its denials, suspension or revocation, and tax returns; and
Specifically established by an executive order or an act of Congress to be kept classified.
Digital Platform/Services – refers to any online or electronic system, including mobile applications, websites, or portals, that allows members to access, apply for, or transact with PSSLAI’s financial services. This includes, but is not limited to, digital loans, e-wallet services, and other financial services that may involve automated processing for identity verification, transaction monitoring, or loan assessment.
