Information Security

In the age of digitalization, organizations of all sizes are grappling with the complex challenges of information security.

Information Security should be in place, practiced, and managed within the Association. This ensures that our members are aware of the importance of protecting their information covering:

  • How the Association protects their information – to build trust and for the Association to have a high reputation

  • How the members can protect their own information by following best practices – to help members be knowledgeable of safeguarding sensitive information

  • How the members can identify and report any cyber incident – to help PSSLAI identify and treat any identified cyber attacks

The following are example of threats that the Association and its members should be aware of:

  • Email Phishing – members can be a victim of any scam emails (e.g. membership application via email) of which member’s personal information may be exposed from clicking malicious links.

  • Vishing – members can be a victim of any scam calls leading to providing personal information which may be used for fraud.

  • Smishing - members can be a victim of any scam SMS messages leading to providing personal information which may be used for fraud.

  • Social Media Attack – members can be a victim of fake processors via social media such as Facebook Messenger. Members can provide their sensitive information of which fraudsters may take advantage for other loan applications and personal use.
